God Still Speaks to Us

Hebrews 1: 1-21 In the past God spoke to our ancestors through the prophets at many times and in various ways, 2 but in these last days he has spoken to us by his Son, whom he appointed heir of all things, and through whom also he made the universe. The Lord spoke to the Jewish fathers through the prophets, the last prophet spoken to was John the Baptist. In Matthew 17:5 we read about God speaking to John the Baptist who was baptizing Jesus in the River Jordan. While he was still speaking, a bright cloud covered them, and a voice from the cloud said, “This is my Son, whom I love; with him I am well pleased. Listen to him!” These days the Lord speaks to us through the person of His Son, through His Word. As we read in John 1:1, “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.”

If you desire to hear God’s voice in the hopes of being comforted or to receive direction then read God’s Word would be helpful. God also speaks to us through other people, the same as he spoke to the prophets in the Old Testament. One must be open to hearing God’s wisdom. If our ears are closed to what others are saying because we are offended, we will not learn. It is possible that God could be speaking through someone’s constructive criticism, if that advice is underpinned by good intentions. We must listen for God’s still small voice, as God tends not to knock us over the head with his demands for our lives.

Surround yourself with good, devout, God-fearing, Bible believers and you will hear God’s voice spoken through them as well as the Sacred Scripture. Praise God the Lord and Savior of all who loves you unconditionally and for all time. God Bless you all with Divine health and happiness.
